Why Are Women Entrepreneurs Optimistic about 2013?

Okay, so the ladies have weighed in, and we choose to be hopeful about Business in 2013. Now I’m the first to say “‘HOPE’ is not a strategy.” But that doesn’t mean that we can’t read tea leaves,

and pay attention to the new business we’re seeing across industries and regions.

Check out this survey that was done by Web.com and my organization NAWBO (disclaimer: I’m on the Presidents Assembly of NAWBO, the National Association of Women Business Owners).

In conjunction with that survey, the recent Forbes article, “10 Real Reasons Why 2013 Will Be The Year Of The Woman Entrepreneur” offer some reasons that this year (and perhaps the preceding recession years) see more women entering the ranks of entrepreneurs. And the rise of women-run investment funds is encouraging for those of us who spend time with women-owned and women-facing businesses!

What do you think? Are you aware of more women-led businesses in your community? What impact do you think it has on our economy and our society?” Would love to hear your thoughts.
